ABOUT ME

Growing up, my favorite place was a small village in the Novgorodskaya Oblast' region of Russia. I spent my days foraging berries and mushrooms, growing vegetables, and exploring the fields and forests in solitude. I also read a lot of fantasy novels and played games such as Everquest, The Witcher, Dragon Age, World of Warcraft, and many others.
Later in life, my love of tales of adventure and of being in nature translated to a love of hiking and travel to remote corners of the world. This, combined with a goal-oriented nature and a desire to create something beautiful, eventually led me to pursue Landscape Photography.
I’ve been slowly building my skillset for the past few years while also working as a software engineer. I still have a lot to learn, but I wanted to make this space to share what I’ve been able to create so far. I’ve spent over eight years working as an engineer at a number of tech startups ranging in size from a small team writing code in a tiny maker space to post-IPO. Currently I lead engineering at an incredible startup that’s on a mission to save lives and protect our planet. I also volunteer with a non-profit called Vegan Hacktivists to help the fight against animal cruelty.
I truly enjoy logical problem solving and working with fellow nerds to create something new and drive positive change. The tech industry has many flaws, but I believe that technology can be used for good, not just for profit.
Before getting involved in engineering, I played music with a few bands and ran a small music venue while studying Psychology and Computer Science. I am mostly not active as a musician at the moment, but you can find some of my past work on Bandcamp and Spotify.
