Call of the Mountains

In 2014, I moved from the East Coast to Seattle. The climate, culture, and — most importantly — the mountains of the Pacific Northwest were calling to me, and I had to answer that call. When I first drove to Snoqualmie Pass and hiked to a remote alpine lake, it was as if I had arrived in Skyrim.

Life in Seattle quickly became like a real-life RPG — farm gold (go to the office), acquire gear, go to increasingly more challenging areas, multi-day trips, and even taking on the final boss (Mount Rainier summit)… I found myself in the mountains nearly every weekend. Photography came later — at first I didn’t have an Instagram and didn’t take many pictures. It was, and still is, largely about exploration and adventure.

I’ve traveled to many other mountain regions since coming here — the Alps, Norway, Scotland, the Canadian Rockies…but there are so many I have yet to explore. These are a few of the images from the hikes I have done over the years.
